2011 in Review.
Wow! God sure is blessing the ministry of The King's Strings. A few key, public appearances really got our name out there and the calls just keep coming. Our prayers in 2011 focused on our calling to be God's light in our world, individually and as a group. Christmas morning we did a little State of the Family update and each of us was able to share how we saw that acted out. We read some letters we had received during the year and rejoiced that we could see God working through us. Our prayer for 2012 is that along with being a beacon of light, we would learn to be "generous with our lives." We can't wait to see what God has in store for all of us!

Jubilee Day.
We were thrilled to be asked to play for Jubilee Day this year! This is the largest, longest running street fair east of the Mississippi. We don't often perform in our hometown so it was great to be in familiar territory; friends, neighbors, relatives and church folks were in attendance. It wasn't the nicest of days weather-wise, but we were amazed at the number of people who stayed with us through the sun and through the downpour. Kudos to all of you since we were nice and dry under a canopy. We definitely hope to be back next year. And we've put our request in for a little more sunshine.

This is My Story.
This update is a little late in coming as we've been performing our "This is My Story" concert series since January. In our programs this year we are combining our creative entertainment with testimonies from each family member, modeling how we let our lights shine for Christ. Performances have been well-received and the requests just keep coming in. It's always sad when we have to tell someone that we are already booked or have another engagement.
And did we mention that we are now a family of 9? Shoun joined our family in February and has been a participant in every concert since his arrival. He has a good ear for music and is picking up the viola very well. Look for him in a concert near you!

Blessings.
Our bio says that we love to put smiles on the faces of our listeners, and to bless those with whom we come in contact. This is most definitely true but we are often just as blessed by those whom we set out to serve. The audience members at a recent concert were more than just members of the audience. The one-on-one chats afterward were so encouraging and blessed us tremendously. One woman came up to us and told us that she wanted to give us a gift which turned out to be a beautiful sounding classical guitar and an autoharp. Both were items that she and her daughter had wanted to play at one time but which have since been collecting dust. The children had these gifts out of their cases and were trying them out before we even left the parking lot. Wow! Thank you, Jesus!
